  • About

Westminster Wheels has been collecting, repairing and refurbishing bikes in London since 2020. We also deliver a bike mechanic training programme to support people to get back into work.

At Westminster Wheels, we believe in sustainable living and working, and are proud to contribute to making London’s communities greener. To date, we’ve saved 23,036 kg of bikes from landfill. Bikes are then recycled or sold to Londoners and an average of 200 refurbished bikes are donated back to the local community every year.

The unique and ever-evolving bike shop has been brought together using equipment borrowed, donated, repurposed and recycled.

Westminster Wheels' bike workshop also works to train apprentice mechanics and supports them in finding work in the bicycle industry. We’re proud that our training programme has helped 43 people so far, 75% of those who complete the training have secured further employment.

Christopher, a trainee bicycle mechanic in our programme, values the nurturing atmosphere and skills learned at Westminster Wheels. He envisions utilising his new skills for a future career as a mechanic upon completing our programme. When asked to encapsulate his experience at Westminster Wheels in a brief description, Christopher passionately expresses it as "great times" and "exceptional work exposure."

All donations received will be invested back into our repair workshop and training center, to support the local community. Our future plans include; bike maintenance classes, a children’s bike library, a desinated recycle centre, e-cargo bike repair partnership, and of course training many more residents for a career in the bike industry.
